Rouletta havin a good thyme
Friday, 20 November 2009
20th November was an exciting day for the team at Norwester, with the arrival of English import stud dog Rouletta Havin a Good Thyme (UK/Sw Ch.Ragus Up 'N' Adam X Rouletta Primrose). I am thrilled to been able to obtain him from breeder Maureen Chambers. "Rocky" has the best show record of any Norwich imported to Australasia. He is the only dog to have beaten current Norwich phenomenon, Ch. Ragus Rings True, which he did on two occasions at Puppy level. Rocky has 1CC, and 5 RCCs (all to Rings True) and was unlucky to be born in the same era as Lesley Crawley's marvellous Rings True, who has dominated the ring since 2007. Rocky shares some bloodlines with this dog, as his paternal grandmother, Ragus Lucy Furr, is full sister to Rings True's mother, the breed's most successful bitch of recent years, UK/Sw Ch. Ragus Truly Unruly.
I saw Rocky go Reserve Dog Challenge to Rings True at the 75th Anniversary Show in the U.K. in September, 2007, and was most impressed by his looks and movement, and his deep black and tan colouring. The judge, Liz Cartledge, described him as follows,"Masculine head and outlook, strong muzzle, dark eyes, well pigmented, ample bone. Compact body, well padded feet, sound mover, tail on top, harsh jacket".
